anyway he gets stuck on these things because it seems very important that astarion set the pace he's okay with - he can decide when he wants to say what he wants to say, and where and exactly how far he wants gale - and gale isn't going to press at any boundary at all that isn't open to him. the whole point of choosing to live is that it opens up a great deal of time to make any decision on any timeline he wants. ]
