I would always rather people speak bluntly. It solves a lot of problems, I've found.

If later we find that there was a different way to help her, I'll take responsibility for this choice. But I didn't want her to hurt anyone else.
[it's why she was so quiet towards the end - with a culprit secured, she was worried showing her hand would make nona lash out at someone unrelated.]
