[ the word brother wraps around her ankle above the straps of her heels. she smiles at gale once she sees him. she also looks to see if tara is anywhere nearby. ]
Hello there, Mr. Gale. Is today treating you any better than yesterday?
[ tara is around! she's currently sort of scarfed around his neck, tail slightly swishing over his shoulders. ]
I certainly hope so. For example, there's a roof over my head now.
[ he scratches at the side of his face briefly with a hand - just. gently trying to divert from where it says `a meaningless death` plastered along the side of his neck. it runs along the strange mark he's always had there: a circle that starts on his chest and has tendrils running on his neck and over his cheek. it seems more obvious now with the ink. ]
Oh, I don't know, I think we are all a bit past morbid at this point surely. I've seen quite enough corpse-filled rooms to feel as if one that only implies the corpses means we are, in fact, doing quite well!
I shouldn't want to give the wrong impression of myself. I did not create the corpses in the rooms! Quite the opposite even. Anyway, I suppose that doesn't matter so much.
But recently, we've been dealing with followers of Myrkul. A god of death. They do tend to lean towards bone-themed decor.

[ she doesn't want to assume, so it's a question. ]
This village must be more of the same to you.
