For the longest time I had, ah. Colleagues. Acquaintances. Associates. Mentors, as well, but often busy with their own work. But not exactly friends - apart from Tara of course. Most of my time was consumed with Mystra, with my studies, with research. Mortal relations fell by the wayside in favor of the more divine aspects.

I see... Well. I think that's a good thing to start with, then. To remember that someone who considers you their friend won't be looking for you to provide anything other than yourself. You don't have to know the right thing to say if you normally wouldn't, or be comforting in a way that doesn't come naturally.
And it gets more difficult to change with time, as well... [Oh to be young and vibrant and capable of changing on a whim, damn.] Even so, you seem quite the impressive sort. I'm certain you'll be able to manage it.
Well, thank you. I'm not sure I entirely believe it myself - I am quite impressive in certain fields. Magic, language, music. But people are a different thing entirely.
