Perhaps even moreso. I believe at times it makes up more of me than anything else. I've been practicing since I was a child, barely able to walk. I was a prodigy, a natural talent. I've never been anything else but a wizard.
You've already listed off a number of other skills beyond magic, along with your charming personality, so I'm certain you'll be able to manage just fine until we can get things sorted again.
Aha, I don't mind listening! Far from it, really. You'll find that I'm quite boring by comparison, I'm afraid... My home is rather isolated. I spend my time there teaching, which is an adventure of its own, but we don't have the grand things many of you seem to.
Oh-- A teacher! How wonderful. That seems perfectly grand to me. I always entertained the idea of teaching. It is traditional after all, to take apprentices, but I've always been busy with research and such, and then, well, the orb, so there simply hasn't been an opportunity, but ...
[ realizing he's just casually dropped the orb into conversation again, and making a bit of grimace at himself but. it's fine. he's gotten so used to everyone around him knowing that he forgot how strange the explanation of it is. ]
Ah, yes. The orb is-- A condition I have. For a time, it made me quite ill. [ he rubs at his chest, like it smarts, over the circular tattoo-like mark there that winds up the side of his neck, along the veins. ] It is the reason that I would consider the future to be ... less than certain.
Ah... [His expression grows a little more solemn, vaguely sympathetic in the distant way of someone who Thinks they might be understanding what's going on here but isn't entirely sure.]
Then - I take that to mean it isn't currently making you ill, but that this might change at some point?

Oh, my... Are you going to be okay here?
[Man sounds like he's on the verge of a potential identity crisis without his wizardry.]

[ he sort of trails off. ]
Well. Perhaps it's not in my future.

I take it that you mean it may not be in your future for reasons that are separate from our group kidnapping, though...?

[ he sort of does a laugh to himself. ]
There's other reasons too, of course, not least of which is being trapped here, so perhaps I shouldn't dwell on it this much.
