Maybe you could bundle some hay in a blanket, make a little back support while you rest. Heard the lining's nice, at least.

Even the raised sides makes it feel a bit more crowded than a normal bed, doesn't it? I wouldn't close the lid, personally. Kind of a fire hazard.
