This book is actually mine - I found it amongst my possessions this morning.
As for the language, it is a wizard's cipher! And a most dastardly one too [ he seems like he's having a lot of fun, actually. ] but I think I'll have it soon. But it's old custom to write one's notes in code. Prying eyes and such!
